Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the Cranford Park Primary School Website!

Children and learning are at the heart of Cranford Park. To achieve educational success we set high standards and we keep to them. We believe that successful learning comes through effective Dr Martin Youngteaching, interesting lessons, hard work, effective discipline, and good attendance. We are determined to maximise the learning of all our children, increase their sense of self-belief and strengthen their respect for each other.

Such ambitions can only be realized through teamwork. When parents and teachers establish an honest, active and harmonious relationship, the children’s learning can be accelerated and their happiness assured. For youngsters to thrive at school, they need an environment that prizes their individuality and places their social and emotional development at the centre of its work. Only an energetic partnership between home and school can allow this to happen.

On the academic front the school will teach your child to read, write, and use mathematics. These basic skills are the key to success in all areas of learning. Scientific investigation will be central to the children’s work, and computer technology will be a vital tool in the children’s educational progress. They will study history, geography and design technology, and through religious education they will have an opportunity to develop spiritually and morally. Art, music, drama, dance and physical education will provide opportunities for the youngsters to demonstrate their expressive, creative and physical talents. Personal, social and health education (PHSE), and citizenship will emphasise the importance of individual and collective responsibility. It is a broad, exciting and relevant education that enables the school to develop and extend the different abilities of all children.

Every child has the right to equal opportunities. Our children come from a variety of cultural and social backgrounds. Many of them are fortunate enough to be bilingual. We value this diversity and strongly believe that this feature of Cranford Park allows our children to fully understand the positive energy and potential of a multicultural and multiracial Britain. All children are welcome here and every individual is encouraged to bring his or her home cultures and values into the classroom for everyone to share. We wholeheartedly believe that all people can live, learn and develop together. On a daily basis we aim to turn this belief into a reality.

We are proud of our children and our children can be proud of their school.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Martin Young
Headteacher
